Earth Day was celebrated at the Soponya school

On the occasion of Earth Day, various events are organized in many countries around the world to draw attention to the protection of the natural environment of the “blue planet”. The essence of Earth Day is not to wait for the solution from others, but to do it ourselves for a better, livable future.

It is enough if we just pay attention to our actions and their consequences. If we do something small every day, consciously choose, buy, travel, make decisions for the sake of the sustainability of our environment, we have already done something for change. At the János Zichy Primary School in Soponya, colorful and varied programs also drew the attention of the students to pay attention to their surroundings, not only on this day, but always. For many years, the educational institution has held the title of Heritage Eco School and Bird Friendly School.

In addition to environmental awareness, team spirit also played a role during the programs. Under the leadership of Henrietta Kajári, a biology-environmental protection teacher, the classes competed together in their classroom. The children solved riddles, filled in blanks, and found out what they know about our Earth. During the morning, they talked about the need to protect and protect our planet, as it is threatened by more and more dangers, most of which are caused by us.

Deputy Mayor Anna Diószegi participated in the event, and she helped plant the flowers offered by the Faluszépító Egyesület in the front garden of the school.
