A tragic evening: either the accused or the witness is lying

--

In last year’s BL final, Manchester City clashed with Inter, but the June 10 match at Anarc will not be remembered for the victory of the English team. Many people watched the match in one of the town’s pubs, including BI, who suffered such serious injuries that evening that he died in mid-July.

He was a childhood friend

According to the indictment of the County Prosecutor’s Office, the intoxicated LF got into an argument with the victim, who was also intoxicated, and in the heat of the argument he punched the man in the face, who fell backwards and hit his head on the pavement. An ambulance was not called, but the accused called his wife over the phone, who took BI home by car – the man was later hospitalized, where he died on July 18. He suffered hemorrhages and bruises, and his brain was also damaged. According to the indictment, a cause-and-effect relationship can be established between the injuries caused by the blow and the man’s death.

At the hearing held at the Nyíregyház Court on Tuesday, LF repeated what he had said at the preparatory meeting in March: he did not hit the man.

– He was my childhood friend, we often partied together, I would never have hurt him – said LF, who admitted that he was there at the scene and that they had a conversation, but he said that after that he went home and only went back because a his acquaintance said that Imre needed help. “He was drunk, several people told him not to drink anymore.” He was upset because his parents were distracting him from home, he also talked to me, but as before, we were able to discuss this now as well. I went home with an acquaintance, Imi wanted to stay. We set off, then heard a big thump and turned back: Imi had fallen. By the time we got there, they had already sat down, and I called my wife to take us home – LF told the details, from whom dr. Prosecutor Attila Mészáros asked why he had not previously mentioned the man, whom he now claimed, they went home together. The accused said that the man had previously asked him not to get involved, but in the past few days he had agreed to do so.

He didn’t want to get involved

The accusation was largely based on MV’s testimony: the young girl was also there that evening in the pub, she was the only one who saw the defendant hit the later victim. As it turned out, at first he testified that he only heard the thump, and only later said that he saw the blow. At Tuesday’s hearing, Dr. was curious about the reason for this. Attila Horváth, the defendant’s lawyer. The girl declared: she was afraid. “I was afraid that if I got involved in this, I wouldn’t get a moral certificate and I wouldn’t have a job,” he said, then confirmed that he also drank a lot that day. – I was standing at the door and saw that they were arguing and that F. hit Imi on the chin with her fist, who immediately fell back. I went out, told the owner, and together we tried to bring him back to his senses. His head was bleeding and I thought he was sleeping because he was snoring – I later learned from the police that it must have been a death snort. Court judge Dr. Viktória Péli-Toóth confronted them. LF asked the girl why she claims something that does not cover reality, to which she replied: because it is reality.

The proceedings continue with the questioning of witnesses.
