Parking spaces have been added to the Bulgarian district. A parking lot with five spaces was completed in Fazola Henrik Street last week. Levente Bazinthe municipal representative of the area, said that last August and during the fall, he held several public forums, where the location of the new parking lot was chosen together with the residents.

The parking lot was designed in such a way that no trees had to be cut down, and the drainage of rainwater was solved with turf bricks, he added. “Of course, we are aware that this is only a partial solution, but parking lots have been established in other places in the district in recent years, including at the kindergarten on Stadion út. In total, about twenty new parking spaces have been created in recent years in Bulgaria,” Levente Bazin added.

Peter Durda, the head of the city operation and technical department of the Miskolc mayor’s office added that there is no possibility of creating more parking lots in this area, as the city’s regulatory plan does not allow it.

– The city’s vehicle stock has been growing continuously in recent years, practically doubling since 2010. Of course, the municipality tries to adapt to this, but the possibilities are constantly narrowing, since all new parking can only be realized at the expense of the green space, and the city’s regulatory plan is an obstacle to this, he added.

The current expansion of the parking space was realized from almost HUF four million from the city’s budget.
