THE Béla Bartók Faculty of Music, University of Miskolc concert organized by Hungarian Radio Art Ensembles performed. The large-scale musical event is 70 years old Hungarian Radio Children’s Choirit’s about, so that Youth Academy will sing, a Hungarian Radio Choir the evening will be represented by a list of singers, while a from the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra a chamber ensemble arrives.

The program is performed by the choir of the Hungarian Radio Children’s Choir, Dinyés Soma compiled from beautiful music from hundreds of years ago. In the opening block, the Mixed Youth Academy will perform Renaissance motets together with With the Early Music Ensemble of the Béla Bartók Faculty of Music. One of the special features of the block will be the revival of the multi-chorus characteristic of Renaissance music. Accordingly, playing with space also comes to the fore. For example, there will be a singer who will sing in the gallery and another in the river salt, which can give the audience incredible acoustic experiences.

In the second part, the conductor put together a bunch of folk songs, which are characterized by the fact that they are connected to Miskolc, namely in the way that Zoltán Kodály he collected those in the city or folk songs from the surrounding area that mention Miskolc or refer to the city. Soma Dinyés also touched on the recent publication of Zoltán Kodály’s mixed-faculty volume, which also includes previously unknown works. In this new edition we find for the first time the Saló Pista folk song arrangement, which – as the conductor described it – is “short, but all the better”. One of the exciting parts of the concert will be the performance of this work – the conductor explained – because Zoltán Kodály recommended it to the people of Miskolc almost 100 years ago, more precisely in 1925, because it covers a folk song collected in the city!

In this part, in addition to folk songs, the young people also sing a cappella works that come from Hungarian folk culture. That way you will be heard among the others Lajos Bárdos Old dance song also his work entitled, which is a processing of a Hungarian dance melody preserved in a codex several hundred years old.

In the third part of the concert WA Mozart his church music work, which he composed at the age of 15, will be played. THE Regina Coeli a nearly quarter-hour long cantata written to text Marta Stefanik his virtuoso solo singing makes him extraordinary. This rarely heard masterpiece will be performed together with the Youth Choir of the Hungarian Radio and the Chamber Ensemble of the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Soma Dinyés highlighted that he noticed that the audience likes explanations accompanying the songs, so he will intersperse the concert with interesting stories. It tells about Zoltán Kodály, the birth of the works, and what is worth paying attention to when listening to music.

The concert of the music ensembles of the Magyar Rádió can be seen on April 26 from 6 p.m. in the Bartók hall of the Zenepalota.
