An exhibition of Csaba Nagyvári’s paintings opened in Íródeák on Friday.

In the pictures of the young artist who lives and works in Veszprém, we can see human figures in the distortion of the water surface: figural representation meets the abstract.

The exhibition was opened by art historian Zsófia Szabó, who followed Csaba’s career as a teacher in his college years and is happy to follow the artistic development of his former students. As he said, Nagyvári mixes hyperrealistic elements with surreal ones, this direction appeared early in his art.

Zsófia Szabó noted: water is a frequently used and complex symbol, which stirs the imagination of creators. Despite the clarity of the water, it makes the view cloudy. Buddhist teachings also point out its duality: on the surface it is exposed to air movements and external influences, it makes waves and ripples, but the deeper we dive into it, the calmer and more unchanged it is, the less it is shaken by the outside world.

Eight of Csaba’s works can be seen in his exhibition Breathing.
