The producer price of raw milk, expressed in national currency, decreased by 5 percent in the USA in February 2024, by 6 percent in March 2024 in New Zealand, and by 8 percent in the European Union compared to a year earlier. According to AKI PÁIR data, the national average producer price of raw milk in Hungary was HUF 166.05/kilogram in March 2024. In addition to a 0.06 percentage point deterioration in fat content, a 0.02 percentage point decrease in protein content and a 1 percent increase in the base price, the average price of raw milk increased by 1 percent in March 2024 compared to February 2024, and was 19 percent below the average price of the same month of the previous year.

According to AKI PÁIR data, in March 2024, compared to the previous month, the processing sales price of fruit yogurt and portioned butter (+3 percent each), as well as boxed UHT (preserved) milk with a fat content of 2.8 percent (+2 percent) increased, the of cow’s cottage cheese stagnated, while the sales price of boxed UHT (preserved) milk with a fat content of 1.5 percent and sour cream (-1 percent respectively) and Trappist cheese (-2 percent) decreased. According to KSH data, the consumer price of 12 percent sour cream increased by 3 percent, that of 2.8 percent fat boxed UHT (preserved) milk, Trappist cheese and fruit yogurt stagnated, while 1.5 and 2.8 percent fat ESL – the consumer price of (long-term fresh) pasteurized milk (-1 percent), 20 percent fat sour cream and added butter (-3 percent respectively) decreased in the same comparison.
