Three people were terrified by two dogs wandering the streets on Saturday in Dunaalmás. The animals eventually attacked a young girl, whose leg was injured. The ambulance took him to the hospital. The police also came to the settlement because of the dog attack. Kemma.hu learned that the two dogs have been keeping the locals in fear for weeks. Many people do not dare to go out on the street if they see them. However, several proceedings have already been initiated against their owner for violating the rules of keeping dogs.

Tibor Makay, the town’s mayor, told kemma.hu that it is the clerk’s responsibility to enforce animal protection rules. A related procedure is still underway against the family.
Proceedings will be initiated due to the dog attack
– The locals told us that the dogs are out on the street and that they are afraid of them. We therefore initiated proceedings against the owner, who received a warning for the first time. However, this was apparently not enough, because another report was received, for which the gentleman who was fined this time also visited the office. This procedure is currently ongoing. In connection with the dog attack on Saturday, based on the police report, we will initiate another case against them. We hope that based on this, the animals will be taken away from them – said the mayor, who added that the office must follow the legal procedure.
The head of the settlement also said that, in his opinion, the fence at the back of the garden is bad, presumably where the animals escape. Local animal protection regulations state that dogs must be kept in such a way that they cannot leave the property. However, they can only ask the owner of the animals to do so. We also learned from Tibor Makay that the municipality tried several times to negotiate with the owners of the dogs. The district commissioner also visited the family several times because of them. Apparently that wasn’t enough.
They can take the dogs
Locals are now hoping to ban the family from keeping animals after the attack. However, this is not sure to be a solution either, because it is impossible to know who can verify its compliance. Unfortunately, the family is unknown even to animal rights activists.
Nóra Terenyei, a volunteer of the Tata Civil Animal Defenders, told Kemma.hu that they know the Dunaalmás family well. Dogs have been taken from them before. One of them two weeks ago.

– The locals first informed us about a year and a half ago that a puppy dog had been wandering around the settlement for a long time. Since Dunaalmás belongs to us, I went out and checked the animal to see if it had an ID. Since it didn’t have a chip, we took the dog and registered it in the name of the animal protection authorities, it also received vaccinations and identification. In the meantime, it became clear who the owner is. However, when we told her that she had to reimburse the costs of the care, she gave up on the animal, said Nóra, who was told by the family that the dog escaped because of the bad fence.
They didn’t ask for help
The animal rights activists offered to help, but the man promised that they would repair the fence. It looks like it didn’t work, because two weeks ago a pug hung from them. Since it also did not have a chip, the dog was also given to the animal protection authorities, which was also given up by its owner. Nóri knows that the two dogs that attacked the two women on Saturday night have also roamed the streets several times. In the local community groups, several people displayed pictures of the animals to see if they knew their owner, because they did not dare to go out on the street because of them.
They were returned to their owner
– I understand that after the incident on Saturday, the farmer presented some kind of vaccination book to the arriving police. However, I don’t think they were able to read a chip to verify the ID of the animals. I really hope that soon the authorities will take action in the matter and the problem will be solved – stated the animal protector.

The police were also outside
Kemma.hu also contacted the police in the case, from whom we received the answer that the farmer received a fine.
– On April 20, at 8:55 p.m., the first report was received, followed by two more reports within minutes, that two dogs were running on the street in Dunaalmás and could be dangerous. A 16-year-old girl got a wound on her leg, the ambulance took her to the hospital. The owner of the animals received an on-the-spot fine, they wrote in their response.

Just like Kemma.hu also said reported: the Neszmély Civil Guard reported on its social media page that the police’s activity control center notified them of the dog attack on Saturday night. Fortunately, after yelling at them, they ran a little further away, so the immediate danger ended, and the police arrived a few minutes later. Since they knew where to look for the owner, they were approached by the police, who also issued fines for the dogs.
