Evangelicals do not differentiate between children. The church agreed to take over the Berzsenyi school together with its district from September. This means that disadvantaged young people and those living in better circumstances can also attend the institution. The parents we interviewed are happy that a church spirit will move to the school.

We are still satisfied with the school, but we are confident that the change of caretaker will be good for the school.

– He told Alexandra Kaszás. “We are a religious family, so I will gladly send my child to church programs,” he added. Another parent had a similar opinion, Zsuzsanna Medics also, whose fifth-grade child currently attends the Berzsenyi school.

I expect from the change that the environment will be friendlier and the children will feel even better.

– He told. – I experience the change of maintenance as absolutely positive. It’s good that the children get a little bit of a framework. Church education helps young people to better follow the rules, develop and be more motivated, stressed Zsuzsanna Medics.

Children cannot learn bad things in a church community

said a third parent. – Church education is good for the school, they can better unite the community. I don’t think they would take the school in the wrong direction. If I were not religious, I would still support the change.
Gábor Hegedüs An evangelical pastor told our newspaper two months ago that they also want to run a school because their Christian mission is to educate children and provide a home for evangelical youth, as there are 67 religious education groups in the city.

School employees will have to declare

Zsuzsa Szabóné Kudomrák, the headmaster of Zoltán Kodály Central Primary School told us that all parties involved agree that the Berzsenyi school should be maintained by the Lutheran Church from the next school year. He emphasized that the employees must declare that they want to work in state or church maintenance from September. – Anyone who decides to stay in the state school has a place in our member schools – emphasized the director general. He added that any parent who does not want to send their child to a church school will of course have a place in one of the institutions belonging to Kodály.
