In the 4th phase of the Urbanization Program, 771 people will be enriched in the county of Vas.
The County of Vas is greening up with another 771 rows of trees – 43 towns and villages in Vas successfully applied for the 4th phase of the Settlement Afforestation Program, Országfásítás wrote on its website.
In 2021, Szentgotthárd won 30 rowan trees thanks to the program initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture aimed at increasing the area covered with trees in the country, and now another 12 silver linden trees were planted in the city with the support of the tender.
The life-giving green surface is important to Szentgotthárd: the Szabadság tér grove was also created in the city center with support, and many trees were now planted in the spring
– emphasized Mayor Gábor Huszár, and thanked him for the support of the Urbanization Program.
Settlements with less than 10,000 inhabitants could apply for tree species that can tolerate urban conditions in the Settlement Afforestation Program, which is coordinated by the National Forestry Association and under the professional guidance of the staff of state forestry companies, such as Szombathelyi Erdészeti Zrt.
In addition to professional planting, the conditions also included tree care.
Row trees are carefully cared for in the city, as the 30 trees planted in the first phase are developing nicely
– emphasized Péter Varga, head of the ecotourism and application management group.
In 2024, another 10,000 row trees will green up the settlements nationwide thanks to the program, of which 4,000 will be planted in the spring.
