The Kaposvár District Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against a Nigerian man in his thirties for the offense of escaping by violating the rules of coercive measures. The case was heard in an accelerated procedure. The man accused of drug trafficking was under criminal supervision from May 2021, which was recently extended by the Metropolitan Court, with the provision that the accused may only leave the administrative area of ​​the Kaposvár district with a special permit, and that his movements must be monitored by the competent police using a tracking device.

However, at the end of March 2024, the man, who was actually staying in a village near Kaposvár, removed the technical device attached to his hand and then

he first traveled by public transport to Kaposvár, from where he wanted to go first to Budapest and then to Germany. The man was arrested and detained by the police of the Fonyód Police Department after stopping the train to Budapest at Balatonlell.

The Kaposvár District Prosecutor’s Office brought the accused to court while in custody. The District Court of Kaposvár found him guilty in accordance with the prosecutor’s charge and sentenced him to 70 days in prison.
