On Saturday, April 27, the Hungarian National Museum is organizing a family picnic in the Museum Garden under the title Children’s Paradise, where the public can find out, among other things, what centuries-old secrets the place hides, as children played there 100 years ago, but the favorite of the boys from Pál Street, the you can also try gojji.

The Muzicska – 19th century playground welcomes children over the age of five with their parents, who can get to know how the children of Pest played in the Museum Garden long ago – the institution’s announcement says.

For the older ones, there is a fire enamel workshop, where young people can create unique jewelry. The Garden Secrets family treasure hunt is open to children of primary school age. In this program, the participants can get to know the hidden corners of the garden, the secrets of the sculptures and tour the special locations of the centuries-old events of the museum garden. The organizers are also preparing a 19th-century nostalgic photo corner under the title Postcard from the Past, where those interested will be able to try on period costumes and experience the elegance of the era.

During the mysterious Pest-Buda program, children over the age of 12 are invited to a live museum investigation, where they can pretend to be detectives and track down urban legends, secrets and mysteries. In addition, there will be an interactive game presentation, where puzzles, board games and stuffed animals from 50-100 years ago are waiting to be discovered.

Direction is Muzi! program will be a family walk and guided tour starting in several rounds, to which children over the age of six and their parents are welcome.

The family picnic will also include a board game corner with the museum’s own developed popular games that evoke the time and atmosphere of the 1848/49 revolution and freedom struggle. Families and children can play with the Giant Puzzle, What does the Hungarian nation want? with a cooperative card game, a memory game and the Föltámadott a tenger board game, with which you can put yourself in the shoes of the characters of the 19th century.
