An artist from Tapolca presented himself in Baja

--

Klára Nyirati, mayor of Baja, said in her opening speech that building the soul is just as important as maintaining the body. – And for that, everyone has to find their own way and method. There are those who find their way in visual arts, but this is a multifaceted process, since the work not only affects the life of its maker, but also maintains the soul of the person who looks at it with the message it wants to convey, said the mayor.

Art sociologist and curator István Marczin said that interested parties can see the active group’s third and best group exhibition so far. – In today’s world, there are more and more expectations that people do not want to meet at all in their childhood. There are also more and more expectations for artists. Let them create novelties, let the work be shocking and decorative. However, we can meet the expectations if we try to get the most out of them based on our knowledge. We can only gain knowledge from our culture, approaching questions from the direction of religion, philosophy, science and art. Art never asserts facts, but depicts emotions and ideas, which is why the title of the group exhibition is very apt: Feelings. After all, the viewer can really experience serious feelings here, said the curator.

However, an important event for them every year is the joint group exhibition, during which they can show where they have come and how much they have improved in the past period. It also turned out that the youngest member of the association is 13, the oldest is ninety-two years old. At the exhibition, 33 artists present themselves with 140 works, including paintings, graphics, sculptures, and jewelry. At the opening, the participants could hear Mária Ignéczy recite.
