Princess Katalin came forward for the first time since announcing her serious illness

At the end of March, the world was shocked by Princess Katalin’s announcement that her doctors had diagnosed her with cancer. Katalin herself reported on this in a video message, as well as the fact that her chemotherapy treatment is already underway.

Since then, the duchess has not appeared in public or posted on her official social media page, until Tuesday, when, following the old tradition, she published a recent portrait of the six-year-old prince on the occasion of the birthday of her youngest child, Lajos.

“Happy birthday, Prince Louis. Thank you very much for the well wishes”

Katalin wrote in the post.

The duchess has a reputation as an excellent photographer, and since the birth of her children, she has traditionally taken the latest pictures of them.

Recently, however, the duchess got into an unpleasant situation because of just such a family photo. On Mother’s Day, Prince Vilmos took a photo of Katalin and her three children, which his wife later noticeably edited, which quickly put her in the crossfire of attacks. Several news agencies retracted the publication of the picture, among others citing that the location of Princess Sarolta’s hand is debatable.

Katalin later apologized for the manipulated images. He referred to the fact that, like many amateur photographers, he likes to experiment with the editing of his photos from time to time.

Princess Katalin will not return to her royal duties for the time being

“In January I had abdominal surgery in London. Then they thought I didn’t have a tumor. The operation was successful. However, the tests after the operation revealed the presence of cancer.”

With these words, Catherine, Princess of Wales, announced that she was suffering from cancer. Katalin said that her doctors recommended preventive chemotherapy treatment, and this treatment is currently in its initial stages.

The last time the princess appeared in public was last December, and although the initial news was that she would recover from her serious abdominal surgery in January by Easter, due to the unexpected diagnosis, it is not yet possible to guess when Katalin will be able to return to work.
