Cafe Frei’s products were already available in domestic Aldi stores, while the own-brand coffees were sold under the Barissimo name in all units globally. These two brands became Barissimo by Cafe Frei, whose first two products are two flavored coffees.

The idea of the collaboration itself arose 12 months ago, and the product development took place at the Cafe Frei plant in Szécsényi, after selecting a basic Brazilian coffee.

The new coffees – which are available in hazelnut and plum flavors – are made exclusively in the Szécsény factory and will be sold in all Aldi stores nationwide.

Both ground coffees will be available in 200-gram packages at a unit price of HUF 1,099.

Cafe Frei has been present on the Hungarian market for 17 years. Today, it has grown into the country’s largest coffeehouse chain, with more than seventy domestic coffeehouses, including self-owned and franchise partners. The foreign expansion started in 2013, in the last ten years the company has opened franchise cafes in France, Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, Croatia, Switzerland, Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
