One of Mitsubishi’s latest models was not clearly popular, since the ASX was born with the rebadge of the Captur within the Renault-Nissan alliance. Now the crease is here, which gave the Japanese version a more unique face.
You may not like Mitsubishi’s new models, but when the survival of the Japanese brand in Europe was at stake, we have to accept that for a while the Colt and ASX, born with the renaming of Renault Clio and Captur, made up the range, while self-developed models like the new , character-shaped plug-in hybrid Outlander will not arrive.
Until now, the ASX looked like a Renault Captur at first glance, but now things may change
The new Mitsubishi ASX was only presented in 2022, but its wrinkles are already here,
which is explained by the fact that the Renault Captur on which it is based was also renewed this year. Following its French brother, the ASX also received new, narrower headlights, and since the emblem no longer bites into the hood, the Mitsubishi looks less like a Renault.
The ASX also got a new front bumper, with a larger air intake and a unique radiator grille, which made the Mitsubishi version almost more characteristic than the Renault.
Like the Captur, its Japanese brother hasn’t changed much at the back either, the C-shaped taillights remain, and instead of the emblem, the branding is written in letters. New alloy wheels have also arrived in the range.
Its interior has also been modernized, for example, a larger, 10.4-inch, portrait-format touch screen has appeared,
on which Google applications run. Behind the steering wheel, a standard 7-inch screen, or a 10-inch screen for an extra charge, shows the dials, and the range of driving support systems has also been expanded, most of which are already part of the standard equipment.
The ASX also starts with a one-liter, turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine with 91 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission. The 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is available with 140 and 158 horsepower, the latter comes standard with a seven-speed double-clutch transmission, and the full hybrid with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 145 horsepower remains in the range.
