Numerous studies support the positive effect of proximity to water on us. It makes us calmer, more creative and a better person in every way. But why would we spend time next to any water, if it could be the bluest water in the world?

To help people find the bluest waters, CV Villas collected Google Maps images of 200 beaches around the world, analyzed them to reveal their RGB color code, and compared this to the color code of the bluest shade of blue, YInMn Blue, which is Scientists from Oregon State University discovered it in 2009.

After conducting the investigation, the team determined that the water of Pasqyra Beach (Mirror Beach) in Albania is the bluest in the world.

Pasqyra beach is in first place, as its sea is only 12.4 points behind the YInMn Blue shade

– shared the company. The beach known as Tükör beach is considered one of the highlights of the Albanian coast, and not by chance: when the sunlight falls on the surface of the sea, it creates a mirror-like effect.

The beach is located at the southern end of the country, opposite the Greek island of Corfu, and is wedged between large rock formations that help protect it from the wind. Because of its secluded location, the beach only has one restaurant and one bar, but that’s more than enough for a fantastic day at the beach. And while it takes a bit of effort to get there, this beach is far from a hidden gem, so be prepared for the crowds if you go there!

Next to Pasqyra Beach is Paralia Mpouka (Long Beach), Greece, just 13.6 points behind YInMn Blue, followed by Kassiopi, Greece with just 14.1 points. They are followed by France’s Plage de la Vernette and Turkey’s Kaputas Beach, completing the top five.

According to CV Villas, seven of the top 30 places with the bluest water in the world belonged to Greece, including the aforementioned two, Voulisma Beach in Crete, Foki Beach in Kefalonia, Omprogialos also in Crete, Antisamos in Kefalonia and Dafnoudi Beach. The lesson of the story is that if you’re serious about seeing blue water, book a flight to Albania and Greece as soon as possible. More details at cvvillas.com.
