Putin’s glass is full – The EU has sent Ukraine new aid

--

Events on the Ukrainian frontline are escalating, as Russian troops advance with unbroken momentum. Russian President Vladimir Putin is growing restless as the Ukrainians stubbornly resist. However, the troops are exhausted, Kyiv does not have enough men. At this critical moment, we can all ask: will this bloody carnage end, or is it just the beginning of another chapter in the history of the conflict?

West – aid has started

In February, the EU approved the four-year program for Ukraine, within the framework of which Ukraine will receive 50 billion euros in support. Ukraine received the first installment of 4.5 billion euros on March 20. Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, announced on Wednesday that an additional 1.5 billion euros had been disbursed to the war-torn country.

War – An important strategic city could fall into Putin’s hands

Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops are working hard to hold Khasiv Yar, a city on a hill above Bakhmut. From a strategic point of view, it plays a very important role in the war, so the Ukrainians want to keep it until they get fresh weapons from the United States. These weapons can slowly go to Ukraine, since according to the news, they are already in warehouses in Poland and Germany. At the moment, the Ukrainian troops are just waiting for Joe Biden to sign the law on $60.8 billion in aid to Ukraine.

If the city is lost, the Russian army will gain fire control over areas such as Druzskovka, Kramatorsk and Konstantinovka. Ukraine needs the support of the allied countries now, since the Russians can respond with 10 times as much for each Ukrainian artillery projectile.

Russia wants to step up its strike campaign. Their goal is to break the logistical support of the Ukrainian army. According to the Institute of War Studies (ISW), a recent statement by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu suggests that the Russians will increase drone and missile strikes. Thus, military warehouses equipped with Western weapons can also become targets. According to Zelensky, the future of Ukraine depends on the decision of the US Congress. If they do not vote on the $60 billion in military aid, Ukraine may fall.
