According to Sikorski, it is not the West that should be worried about a possible conflict with Russia, but the other way around.

He underlined: the NATO defense alliance. He pointed out: the alliance’s military capabilities are three times greater than Russia’sthe air force of the NATO countries is three times larger, and the navy is four times larger.

Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has “shaken the previous order of the world”, now we are “faced with a simple alternative”: or We will be dealing with “a defeated Russian army stationed beyond the eastern border of Ukraine” or “a victorious (Russian) army on the eastern border of Poland” – said Sikorski. He expressed hope that “thanks to the efforts of the civilized world, Putin will lose the war.”

He emphasized that Poland is ready to cooperate with “a non-imperial (ambition) Russia” that respects the right of self-determination of other nations.

According to the minister, such a Russia is symbolized by the murdered Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and other political prisoners.

He also said: Russia is lying about alleged Polish plans to annex parts of Ukraine. “The Donets Basin – Ukraine, Crimea – Ukraine” – he referred to the territories annexed by Russia, and then he said about the lands that once belonged to Poland and are now Ukrainian:

Lviv – Ukraine, Volhynia, the former Eastern Galicia – is also Ukraine. Lviv, Ukraine

– he emphasized in Ukrainian.

He also underlined that Poles do not forget “painful past events” and they expect cooperation from the Ukrainian side in the search for historical truth.
