The Chinese couple went on vacation to Indonesia, and on Saturday morning they went to the 2,799-meter-high Ijen volcano accompanied by a tour guide. This excursion is very popular among tourists – the photo in front of the spectacular, blue fire-filled crater lake is the dream of many. So was this woman. Then tragedy struck: according to CNN Indonesia, the couple wanted to capture the sunrise at the crater.
Skirt
First, a tour guide named Guswanto took a picture of them together. After that, the young wife in her mid-twenties stepped to the rim of the crater so that her 32-year-old husband could take a picture of her. When she tried to move a little further, her leg got caught in her long skirt, she fell backwards and fell into the 75-meter depth. The ambulance service found him two hours later, several bones were broken and he was already dead.
When the young husband learned that his beloved wife had died in the hospital, he was devastated. She cried and beat her head against the wall while frantically calling friends and relatives to tell them the terrible news. According to the tour guide and the police, there was an accident. The tourist roads leading to the crater have been closed by the authorities for the time being.
