Time cannot stand still.
We recently wrote about a man who, despite the age difference of more than half a century, maintains a romantic relationship with his grandfather’s widow, but their love was separated by spade, hoe and big bell after the woman, who celebrated her 104th birthday in February, passed away.
The couple met for the first time in 1996, but the tender feelings between them brought them closer only in 2013. He is of Estonian origin Mart Soeson according to the Daily Mail, many people accuse him of faking his love in order to get a residence permit in Australia. This seems to be somewhat supported by the fact that
- the man referred to himself for a while as he was also of Estonian origin Elfriede Riitrelike his grandmother
- they allegedly never had sex and didn’t really talk about it (but physical intimacy was part of their lives in the form of holding hands, kissing and hugging),
- they did not sleep together (the man would have been disturbed by the snoring of his older partner, who also lived in a nursing home, and Mart Soeson could only visit him periodically due to lack of a visa)
- for the first time, a woman with hearing and vision impairment, Alzheimer’s disease and bipolar disorder confessed her love,
- In 2018, the man’s request to change his place of residence was submitted (which was rejected by the court, appealed, and the hearing will continue in May, without the support of the woman).
Despite all this, the 48-year-old man insists that the relationship between them was genuine, which, in his words, “started as a healthy bond that I had with my late grandfather’s widow, but slowly but surely turned into a very meaningful and loving relationship”, and he believes that the same standing in the opposite situation (a very old man with a woman who is very young compared to him) would not have been a problem for the visa application either.
