Aleksandr Ionov, a foreign policy expert of the Strong Russia Movement and a member of the Human Rights Council subordinate to the Russian president – who was previously accused of meddling in the American elections and had sanctions imposed on him – told the ura.ru news portal that Ukraine is preparing for a major counterattack, which they also receive weapons from European countries in a new aid package.
In recent weeks, we heard more about the offensive that the Russian army may be planning for this summer. At the same time, Kirilo Budanov, the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, hinted a few weeks ago that a Ukrainian counter-offensive for this year is not ruled out.
Now a Russian official in the person of Ionov also spoke about a possible Ukrainian counterattack. “The issue of the escalation of the conflict has already been resolved. Now the final preparations for mobilization in Ukraine are underway. They want to carry out a counter-offensive, after which they will lose all their military potential,” he said Alexander Ionov, who has already classified the Ukrainian offensive, which has not even started, as a failure.

No operation involving air or water drones can take place without them. Attacks against Belgorod and other regions using multiple rocket launchers are being developed together with American and European advisers. The use of modern weapons such as ATACMS and SCALP missiles cannot take place without the participation of military specialists from the United States and Europe,” said the Russian official, who even added regarding foreigners:

Aleksandr Ionov also believed that Russia would definitely win. “We have to be ready, but otherwise everyone knows perfectly well that the victory is ours. After all, Ukraine has lost all its potential, and the nationalists have lost their will to fight,” he concluded his speech.
The US legislature over the weekend approved a $61 billion aid package for Ukraine, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said could give him a chance to win. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denisz Smihal also announced what the package will be spent on.
