Russian spy chief: Washington and London urge Kiev to expand mobilization

Washington and London are urging Kiev to expand the mobilization to the maximum extent, including the conscription of men between the ages of 17 and 70, as well as the continuation of the conscription of women, Sergei Naryskin, director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (FSSR), said in a statement issued by the organization’s press office on Monday.

Referring to what he called reliable information, Nariskin said that the purpose of the measure would be to make up for the huge losses in personnel suffered during the failed Ukrainian counterattack, as well as to try to make people believe that Russia’s victory in the conflict in Ukraine is impossible. He claimed that following American and British “instructions”, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov proposed to the parliament to consider the possibility of lowering the minimum age for conscription.

As he said, a legislative proposal has been registered in the Ukrainian legislature, according to which the age limit for conscripts will be raised from 60 to 65 years, and for command staff from 65 to 70 years. The Russian spy chief compared this to the final hours of the Nazi empire.

According to Naryskin, the serious lack of human resources on the front forces Kiev to mobilize more and more women, whose number in the Ukrainian army “according to Western estimates is more than 40,000”.

“The Kyiv regime has already raised the age limit for women to be called up for military service to 60. But this is not enough for Kiev. The Ukrainian military command requests to expand the list of women’s professions subject to mobilization” – He told.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry’s military report on Monday, the Russian army repelled five attacks on three fronts. About 270 Ukrainian soldiers were killed or wounded in the fighting along the front line during the past day.

According to the ministry, three attacks were thwarted on the Kupyansk front, and the Ukrainian side suffered the greatest loss of life – more than 130 people – in the fighting in the Donetsk area.
