A critical infrastructural facility caught fire in the Khmelnytskyi region, the head of the city, Oleksandr Simchysin, announced on his Telegram channel.
According to the mayor, administrative buildings and industrial facilities were also damaged in Khmelnytskyi.
The explosions in the Khmelnytskyi region and the damage to a critical infrastructure facility were previously reported by the regional military administration. They did not specify which facility it was, they only said that “outside of populated areas”. The Ukrainian news and analysis website Strana publishes a video of the powerful fire.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy later clarified that a building of an energy facility was damaged in the Khmelnytsky region. Tens of thousands of people were left without electricity in Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv regions.
Yesterday evening, an air raid alert was ordered practically throughout Ukraine, including in the western regions of Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi, Ternopil and Rivne. Later, the media reported explosions in various regions. In particular, an industrial enterprise in Mykolaiv was damaged. In addition, Ukrainian Railways announced significant delays for at least five trains.
Since October 10, the Russian military has launched missile strikes on energy, defense industry, military administration and communications facilities across Ukraine. As Vladimir Putin stated, the first attack was a response to the Kiev regime’s terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge. Since then, air raid alerts have been announced every day in Ukrainian regions, and in some cases throughout the country.
