The preview of TV2’s new weekly production, the series SEREG, which will debut in the last quarter of 2024, has been released. According to the channel’s announcement, the show is a military-themed series, which is the story of a father-son conflict and a mission of revenge about how to overcome your own limits, forge a team into unity and differentiate between real good and bad.

The series is produced by Megafilm, the company behind Elk*rtuk, owned by the Kálomista family, with 865 million state subsidies, in collaboration with the Hungarian Defense Forces. The scriptwriter of the mini-series is Balázs Benda, who also wrote the script for Elk*rtuk, and the director is Linda Dombrovszky. According to Megafilm, the series can be shown in autumn, Gábor Fischer did not reveal a more precise date in the interview.

The Hungarian Armed Forces provides locations and military equipment (war vehicles, drones and helicopters) for the series, and Szilveszter Pálinkás, the face of the army’s recruitment campaign, is also featured in it. According to Megafilm’s description, the series will run on two lines: “a comedy about basic training and a tough military drama about a life-or-death mission.”

Also at the end of the year, the Hunyadi series, which is being prepared with a HUF 10.5 billion state subsidy, may appear, and the Hungarian-German co-production entitled The Rise of the Raven may arrive on the channel as soon as autumn, according to Gábor Fischer, TV2’s program director, speaking to Sorozatwiki. We had previously been to the filming of the Hunyadi series, where the creators said that a Hungarian production of such a volume, involving so many actors and extras, had probably never been made.
