In the biography-inspired story set in the 1930s and 40s, the young veterinarian finds himself faced with new challenges, not only in the clinic, but also in his personal life.
According to the story, we are in the spring of 1939, and the life of James Herriot, the young veterinarian, finally takes off when he can marry his love, Helen. They start their life together in the attic of the house that also houses the veterinary practice, together they face all the tasks that everyday life brings with it among the small and large animals of the Yorkshire farms.
Siegfried accepts him as a partner in practice, and this entails more responsibility but less income, but James still enthusiastically throws himself into the introduction of professional innovations. On the farms of Yorkshire, the pneumonia that threatens the cattle rears its head, meanwhile the news of the approaching war fills it with deep unease.
The third season of the series about British rural life and veterinary medicine, interwoven with romantic threads, can be watched on Wednesday evenings on the Danube from April 24.
