VESTAL, NY (BUBearcats.com) – The Binghamton women’s lacrosse team (9-6, 4-1) will host Bryant (9-5, 3-2) in its final regular season game, Saturday, April 27, at the Bearcat Sports Complex. First draw is slated for 1 pm

The Bearcats will celebrate Senior Day before the start of the contest and honor the 10 graduating members in their final home game, Zoe Congdon, Paloma Blatter, Sofia Salgado, Emma Conroy, Olivia Cosgrove, Hayley Weltner, Amanda Padrazo, Gabriella Meli, Madison Murphy and Kristen Scheidel.

Tied for first in the conference standings, BU seeks its sixth consecutive victory and fifth in AE play. Last time out, Binghamton defeated UMBC, 14-13, in overtime to clinch its third straight America East tournament appearance.

BU dominated in the draw circle against the Retrievers with three times as many draw controls wins, 21-8. Weltner recorded a season-high 12 draw controls in the circle followed by reigning AE Rookie of the Week Emma Blloshmi’s six and Gretel Cassell’s two.

Seven Bearcats found netting for BU in the victory, led by Murphy’s five points (3G, 2A). Both Scheidel (2G, 1A) and Olivia Muscolino (3G) chipped in three points apiece. Weltner (1G, 1A), Blloshmi (2G), Meli (2G) and Carla Curth (1G, 1A) added two points each for Binghamton.

BU leads the conference in points per game (19.53) and assists per game (6.07). Binghamton sits second among all AE teams in shots per game (31.60) and third in goals per game (13.47).

On a 33-game goal streak dating back to 2022, Muscolino ranks in the top-10 of all AE performers in three major offensive categories. The junior attacker is fifth in goals per game (2.87) and seventh in points per game (3.67) while sitting eighth in shots per game (6.27).

Two active Bearcats rank in the top-10 players in the conference for draw controls per game with Weltner in third (5.33 avg) and Scheidel in ninth (4.33 avg). Angelina Suau also sits 10th in the America East for caused turnovers per game (1.13).

Goalkeeper Sofia Salgado is third in the AE with 10.94 goals against average and fifth in saves percentage (.412).

Binghamton leads the all-time series over Bryant, 1-0. The teams sole match-up came last season, April 8, 2023, and resulted in a 19-7 road win for the Bearcats.

The Bulldogs are looking to secure their tenth win of the season and fourth in conference play over BU Saturday. Last time out, Bryant recorded a narrow win against New Hampshire, 16-15.

Next up, Binghamton awaits the results of Saturday’s America East games that will determine postseason seeding. The conference tournament semifinals are slated for May 3 and final for May 5.
