At quarter past three in the afternoon, a young man suffered an electric shock at the Eger-Rendező station when he climbed onto a tanker truck and approached the overhead line. The accident occurred in a working area, where civilians are strictly prohibited from entering – the MÁV Communications Directorate responded to heol.hu’s inquiry.
As the portal writes, MÁV specialists emphasized:
even approaching the overhead power line is life-threatening! It can even cause a fatal electric shock within a distance of 2 meters. Touching the overhead line or other parts of the overhead line network (poles, switches) is also life-threatening.
They added that during rail transport, passengers can only stay in areas designated for passenger traffic, which they can use, for example, to buy a train ticket, wait, board the train or travel.
Every year, several people suffer serious burns when they illegally climb onto a train or an overhead line support pole in a railway area and are electrocuted. Unfortunately, sometimes taking a selfie on top of a train, which seems like an exciting activity, can lead to death. Horrible accidents typically involve juveniles and children
