After the Palestinian authorities finished excavating a mass grave in Han Yunis, Gaza, they said they found 392 bodies, many of them still wearing hospital gowns.

At a press conference on Thursday, it was also said that the identities of only 165 people have been established so far, while they are still working on the identification of the remaining 227 people.

Israel denies any involvement in the mass grave

The Israeli army (IDF) denies that they brought up the mass graves, saying they were dug by the Palestinians months ago, reports CNN. The Gaza Civil Defense itself admitted that around 100 graves were already at the hospital before the IDF arrived.

The American channel also spoke to Gazans who reported that

in January, they temporarily buried their loved ones at the hospital, but after the Israelis withdrew, they had to face the fact that the bodies were dug up and buried in mass graves.

Although the IDF says the mass graves are just part of a disinformation campaign, on Thursday a spokesman for the UN Secretary General spoke in New York about the need for an international investigation.
