Citizens of several countries participated in the organization of the terrorist attack against the Crocus City Hall cultural center in Krasnogorsk, which was financed, among other things, with the use of cryptocurrency, Yuri Chikhanchin, the head of the Russian financial supervision (Rosfinmonitoring), stated on Thursday in Nizhny Novgorod.

At the international forum dealing with current issues in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, Chihanchin said:

“The investigation has not yet been completed, but the preliminary results show that citizens of several countries were involved in the organization of the terrorist attack. And the financing of the terrorist attack was done through a number of financial organizations, using different tools, including cryptocurrency.“

The head of Rosfinmonitoring previously also said that many countries are ready to help Russia investigate the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, as they are interested in preventing the spread of terrorism.

Xi Jinping said the terrorist attack was well thought out and an international criminal network was used to carry it out. The perpetrators were provided with money, weapons, and ammunition, provided with transportation and the opportunity to escape from the scene. According to the official, the action was clearly coordinated by the perpetrators’ principals.

On the evening of March 22, one of the biggest terrorist attacks in the history of modern Russia was committed in the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow. In connection with the attack, in which 145 people lost their lives, 11 suspects, typically of Tajik nationality, have been arrested so far.

According to Moscow, the investigation has confirmed that there is a connection between the perpetrators of the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall concert hall and Ukrainian “nationalists”. From the first hours after the attack, several Western governments and Kiev insisted that Ukraine had nothing to do with the attack and that the perpetrator was the terrorist organization called the Islamic State, which claimed responsibility for the attack.
