Burnt-out real estate agents, a gangster looking for retirement and an insomniac detective.

On April 25, one of the greatest actors of all time, Oscar and four-time Grammy winner Al Pacino, will celebrate his 84th birthday. His career began in the late sixties, but he is still going strong. On the occasion of his birthday, we brought 3 pieces from his impressive filmography that are perhaps less often mentioned, even though they are bravura works.

#1 Glengarry Glen Ross

He smeared four real estate agents with it it motivates the company’s motivational trainer (Alec Baldwin, who steals the film with such scenes) threatens to pull themselves together, because only the two best of them can stay at the company. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning screenplay by David Mamet Glengarry Glen Ross it is not only rich in great jokes, dramatic scenes, brilliant remarks and juicy swear words, but its cast list is also amazing:

Unfortunately, it failed miserably at the box office, but it later became a cult, and many people refer to it as one of the best films of the nineties.

#2 Carlito’s Way

When it comes to gangster movies, typically everyone is a Godfather, Scarface, the Goodfellas mega Once Upon a Time in America bring it up, and obviously they are masterpieces, but I think Pacino’s best mob movie is Carlito’s journey. The brilliant Brian De Palma – The scarfaced one in addition to, among others, the first – and still benchmark – Mission: Impossiblethe Death to the bridge and the Carrie he also put it together – his movie is about a Puerto Rican criminal living in New York who wants to retire.

From the heart-wrenching gangster story – in which, in addition to Pacino, Sean Penn and Penelope Ann Miller also play a big role – De Palma also directed the shit. A good example of this is the chase scene at the climax, one of the most nerve-wracking chases ever put on celluloid.

#3 Insomnia

Christopher Nolan even the batting before, in 2002, he decided to remake the great Icelandic psychothriller of the same name, and he did an excellent job. Even according to the director of the original cinema, Erik Skjoldbjærg, the adaptation became patent, he managed to preserve the excitement and spirit of the original. Pacino plays a Los Angeles detective who investigates the killer of a teenage girl in Alaska (Robin Williams is shockingly scary in the role). After making a big mistake,

A rock-hard, tense thriller, it doesn’t let the viewer rest either.
