The so-called national security law package was voted on by the House of Representatives on Saturday and by the Senate on Tuesday, and the president has already indicated in advance that he will sign it as soon as it comes before him.

Under the new legislation, the United States will provide Ukraine with more than $60 billion in military aid. According to the president’s intention, the first shipment will leave this week, a plan confirmed by Joe Biden in a live broadcast speech when he signed the law into effect.

According to his wording, the equipment for Ukraine can start within hours. Among them, he mentioned ammunition for air defense systems, missile systems, shells for artillery and vehicles.

He also explained that the support of the allies makes the United States itself stronger, and called the adopted Ukrainian support framework an investment in the security of Europe.

At the signing, Joe Biden emphasized that the two houses of Congress passed the laws with bipartisan majority support and thanked the Republican and Democratic legislative leaders.

The national security law package also includes a support framework for Israel worth about 26 billion dollars, of which one billion dollars is earmarked for humanitarian aid for Palestinian civilians living in the Gaza Strip.

The president stated that they will ensure that Israel has all the means to defend itself against Iran and terrorist threats. He added, however, that the law significantly increases humanitarian aid for Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, he called on Israel to immediately ensure access to humanitarian aid for the people living in the Gaza Strip.

The entire package of laws includes $8 billion for Taiwan and the Indo-Pacific region, which is intended to address the challenge posed by China. It also includes legislation that could lead to a ban on the social video-sharing app TikTok in the United States if the Chinese parent company does not sell its American stake.
