Barbara Joan Streisand was born on April 24, 1942 in the Jewish neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. His amazing career was accompanied by successes and awards, but he was always able to renew himself and proved his talent again and again in different fields.

Streisand is a stage – and film actress, singer, director, producer, screenwriter, composer, fashion designer, photographer, writer, humanitarian activist – philanthropist! He is the only artist who has been on the charts for five consecutive decades with a chart-topping album. During his musical career, he became the owner of 52 gold, 31 platinum and 13 multi-platinum records.
His discography includes 8 gold – 6 platinum and 3 multi-platinum DVDs. The list of Barbra Streisand’s awards and accolades is endless – among other things, she is one of the few artists who can claim all four prestigious awards in the art world: her work was also recognized with an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony award. In addition, he received a Grammy Legend Award for his entire life. Among his countless awards are 12 Golden Globes, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the American Film Institute, and the French Order of Honor. He received his first Oscar for his performance in Funny Girl in 1969.

Barbra Streisand became a successful and recognized artist without receiving any support from home – her mother considered her particularly untalented and regularly “warned” her that she was ugly. And her foster father reacted aggressively every time little Barbra sang.
As a high school student, Streisand already worked – after school she took a part-time job in a Chinese restaurant. As a high school student, he also saw a Broadway play for the first time, which had a great impact on him: the show was The Diary of Anne Frank. After graduating from Erasmus Hall High School, she moved away from home and tried to stand on her own two feet: she was a babysitter, waitress and cashier, and then sang in night bars for a while. At the age of 18, she also changed her name, i.e. shortened it: from Barbara Joan Streisand to Barbra Streisandra.

His first stage debut was at the age of 20, in the Broadway play “I Can Get It For You Wholesale”. In the same year, 1962, her first album, The Barbra Streisand Album, was released, which entered the top 10 of the American charts and became a gold record.
The rest is history…
