The Alien: Romulus In a recent interview, its star Isabela Merced explained how Fede Álvarez pays homage to the pioneering technique of the original 1979 film. We’ve already seen a teaser trailer for the film, an extended trailer with several scenes was shown at the CinemaCon panel discussion in Las Vegas two weeks ago, and so far it seems that everything is going as the fans hoped.

He was interviewed by Collider Alien: Romulus young star. During the conversation, Merced revealed that traditional special effects were used on the set, and that one scene was an extremely terrifying experience for her. He was in favor of practical effects, so they wanted to pay homage to Ridley Scott’s original creation, when they still used live people in alien clothes. This will make the Xenomorph more realistic and make it easier for the actors on set to be face to face with the deadly creature.

I just saw Xeno for the first time. A robot was used for this, as well as a human. A very tall person was hidden in the costume and special effects were used. There were always two Xenos on set and they were simply awesome.

The details are incredible. I love Xeno nails. That favorite part of the body in the costume, the chrome fingernails. I will show up to the premiere with chrome nails. You will see them everywhere. They were incredible.

Ridley Scott’s original 1979 sci-fi horror film ended with Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley ejecting the Xenomorph from the escape pod and entering a deep, cryogenic sleep for the long journey back to human civilization. Seven years later, James Cameron continued the story with the return of Ripley. The protagonist of the franchise embarked on a military mission to investigate a possible Xenomorph attack on a distant space colony.

We already knew from statements that it is Alien: Romulus The eighth passenger: Death(1979) and The planet’s name is Death (1986) takes place between the events. We learned a bit more about the plot of the new Alien movie when Disney 20th Century Studios released a synopsis last year, though even that is pretty vague: “In the ninth installment of the extremely popular and enduring film series, a group of young people on a distant world come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.”

Cailee Spaeny stars alongside Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu.

The Alien: Romulus It will be released in theaters on August 15, 2024.
