Tuesday is not a day that will be well remembered in the history of the Vancouver Canucks.

First came the news that Thatcher Demko was out with a suspected knee injury and wouldn’t play in at least game 2 against the Nashville Predators that evening.

Then the teams hit the ice for the morning skate and Tyler Myers was absent, indicating that he may also be dealing with an injury.

The Canucks took an optional morning skate so his absence in the morning wasn’t particularly noticeable. He wasn’t the only player not to skate, but afterwards head coach Rick Tocchet said he wasn’t expecting any lineup changes other than Demko’s absence.

Noah Juulsen took warm-up in Myers’ place.

A Canucks spokesperson said they did not have an update on Myers’ status when asked pre-game.

It’s a tough blow for Myers, who was coming off a highly effective game Sunday against the Predators.

He told Postmedia last week how thrilled he was to finally be in the playoffs at home with the team he chose to join in 2019.
