Has the NBA calendar and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s calf injury galvanized the Milwaukee Bucks?

It certainly appeared on Sunday night.

Picked by many to struggle in their first-round playoff series with the Indiana Pacers, especially with Antetokounmpo’s status in question, the Bucks handled Indiana easily in Game 1, 109-94.

Antetokounmpo’s absence meant all eyes were on Damian Lillard and the veteran guard set the tone with 35 points in the first half, delivering a message to the Pacers that there’s nothing regular about the postseason.

However, Lillard may need to don his cape again as Game 2 presents a similar challenge for Milwaukee. Giannis is not expected to play and Indiana’s top-ranked scoring offense likely won’t be as sluggish. The Pacers missed 28 of 38 three-point attempts Sunday.
