As previously reported by Metropol, a shocking accident took place on Monday, April 22, on Hegyalja út in the 1st district, near Sánc utca: two cars collidedwith such force that one car overturned and the other was damaged.
The cars involved in the accident knocked over a traffic light and damaged a lamp post. Ambulances, police and firefighters immediately arrived at the scene, as it is understood that several people were trapped in one of the vehicles and were injured.
– Two passenger cars collided in the 1st district of Budapest, on Hegyalja út, at Sánc utca. One of the cars overturned. As a result of the accident, a traffic light fell and a lamp post was damaged – announced the National Directorate General of Disaster Management.
However, Metropol knows that the car that overturned after the collision was occupied by law enforcement officers, and even though it was a civilian car, it also had permission to use distinctive light and sound signals. According to our information, it is possible that the employees of the Anti-Terrorism Center were traveling in the car, and the injured were among them. Our newspaper therefore contacted the Budapest Police Headquarters in connection with the case, who confirmed that the civilian car did indeed use a distinctive light and sound signal:
Around 3:10 p.m., two passenger cars collided on Budapest I., Hegyalja út. The two victims of the accident were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The circumstances of the case are being investigated by the BRFK I. District Police Department
