A stampede was attempted in Jerusalem on Monday morning, and the security forces are on full alert for Pesach, which arrives in Israel in the evening.

Police officers at the scene of the assassination

Two people were slightly injured in a stampede in Jerusalem on Monday morning, next to a synagogue. According to the police, the two terrorists fled the scene after unsuccessfully trying to use a home-made machine gun, which they threw away during their escape. An ax was also found at the scene.

The assailants arrived in a white car and collided with another vehicle. The authorities also deployed a helicopter in the manhunt against them.

During the night, Israeli security forces arrested 21-year-old Ahmed Davsa in the Palestinian village of Duma in the West Bank, who is accused of murdering a 14-year-old settler boy named Benjamin Achimeir a few days ago.

According to police reports, in the shadow of the war in Gaza since October 7, thousands of police, border guards and volunteers are overseeing the eight-day Passover celebration that begins Monday night. They regularly patrol various entertainment venues and mass events in order to “provide an appropriate response to every scenario and increase the public’s sense of security”.
