Allegedly, the market value of the property also suffers from the association with the former president.

Although the US presidential election will only take place in November, another vote is already taking place in a luxury property on the East Coast, which, although the stakes are much lower, can still be sensitive. Donald Trump. An initiative was launched among the residents of Trump Plaza in New Rochelle on the east coast to rename the building, as a significant part of the residents there do not want their home to be associated with the ex-president, who has a divisive personality to say the least. The Guardian writes that voting has already started in the forty-story apartment building with 194 apartments, with which the owners would decide on the name change.

There is no final result yet, but this would not be the first time that the owners of a building have parted with the name of Trump, since 2016 it has already happened to three houses in New York and a hotel in Toronto. The decisions may not necessarily be based only on the political sympathies of the residential community, but also business reasons: according to a February New York Times article, buildings bearing the president’s name underperformed on the real estate market, but after the name change, the goods quickly returned to their real value.
