The Sárvár Traffic Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against the man who drove a truck while moderately drunk in January 2023 for the offense of driving while intoxicated. The defendant also transported two passengers, one of whom traveled illegally in the vehicle’s cargo compartment. During the journey, the drunk driver drifted onto the curb, so he jerked the steering wheel to get back on the road. Due to the sudden movement of the steering wheel, the vehicle skidded, first on its right side and then on its top. There were no personal injuries as a result of the accident.
The defendant violated several relevant provisions of the KRESZ, because he drove a vehicle with alcohol in his system from the consumption of alcoholic beverages; did not drive in accordance with the road conditions; he also exceeded the permitted speed limit; and transported a person not in the standing or sitting position of the vehicle designed for this purpose. The District Prosecutor’s Office proposed the imposition of a fine and a ban from driving against the accused, whose criminal liability is at the Sárvár District Court, the Vas County Prosecutor’s Office announced.
