In April, the average number of employed persons aged 15-74 was 4,710,000, 29,000 more than a year ago. In the three-month period from February to April, the number of employed persons was 4 million 698 thousand, 14 thousand more than a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday.
While the number of workers in the domestic primary labor market increased by 17,000, and the number of workers abroad by 6,000, the number of public employees decreased by 9,000.
Among the 15-64 year olds, 4 million 581 thousand were classified as employed, the typical employment rate for the age group was 74.3 percent.
For men, the number of employed persons did not change essentially, they amounted to 2 million 425 thousand, their employment rate was 78.7 percent. In the case of women, the number of employed persons was 2 million 156 thousand, the employment rate rose by 0.3 percentage points to 70.0 percent.
In the age group of young people (15-24 years), the number of employed people was 272 thousand, their employment rate increased by 0.4 percentage points to 27.7 percent. Among the population of the so-called prime working age (25-54 years), the employment rate decreased by 0.7 percentage points, to 87.4 percent, while among the older age group (55-64 years), it increased by 3.5 percentage points, to 68.3 percent.
