In addition to winning the individual all-around competition, Anna Knight also won a gold medal on the floor at the youth national championship. With her success, the 14-year-old FTC gymnast won her place in the national team for the summer EYOF in Maribor.
As we wrote earlier, Anna Knight she excelled at the national championship of youth female gymnasts at the end of last week in the Központi Tornacsarnok. THE Orsolya Gondos-Arató, Géza Ostie his pair training student won the gold in the individual all-around with a score of 46.800, then he was also able to stand on the top step of the podium in the individual floor final (11.700), while he won the bronze medal on beam (11.200).
I am very happy that I managed to achieve my main goal, because Saturday’s individual combined qualifying competition was for the summer EYOF, and I finally managed to win, so the first day really ended well, I was absolutely satisfied with my exercises.
However, the following day, for the individual finals, this cannot be fully said, the finals could have been a little better, especially on beam and half beam. Of course, thanks to the gold I won on the floor, I finished the competition overall happy” – said the 14-year-old FTC to Utánpótlássport.
With this, Knight will certainly be part of the national team at the EYOF at the end of July, and after the World Youth Championship in Antalya in March, he can participate in his second world event in Maribor this year.
The total score of 46,800 is my best result so far,
which, in addition to the victory, I was especially happy about, especially in light of the fact that I felt that there was still some left in it, minor mistakes slipped in here and there. So this current form is definitely encouraging for the future, I hope I can improve on this even for the EYOF.
At the same time, my main wish is that, as a beam specialist, I will be able to make it to the EYOF finals in my favorite sport.
– said Anna about her goals, who is already preparing for the competition in Slovenia.
