Following the huge success of the Fallout TV series, a next-gen update to the latest single-player installment in the game series is now available. Despite its announcement two years ago, the patch brought very little to the table, in terms of graphics, Fallout 4 basically did not beautify, moreover, based on the list of changes, only very few bugs were eliminated in it.

Fortunately, the update has its beneficiaries, the mere tuning of the graphics settings on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles significantly improved the game, but those who are willing to give up some extra cosmetics can also switch to the 60 frame mode, which dramatically improves the gaming experience.

On the other hand, computer players had a very bad time with the mandatory update: previous game saves using mods were destroyed, and you can’t customize the graphics settings on the Steam Deck, because the Fallout 4 launch menu is not available. In addition, the support for ultra-wide monitors is also weak, as in the previous state, the game will have to be modded so that it works and looks as expected even with rarely used resolutions.

Perhaps it would have been better not to release the update on PC either, it didn’t do anything worth mentioning on that platform other than messing around with fans and mod makers.
