The EP-T5020’s performance doesn’t explain its premium pricing at all.

We can choose from many alternatives and unofficial solutions when looking for accessories for our mobile phones. It is understandable that many people prefer the somewhat riskier, but more budget-friendly route and do not vote for the manufacturer’s official, sometimes very expensive products.

Like most market players, Samsung also offers its customers a number of accessories, but with their latest fast charger they have definitely stepped up – at least in terms of its pricing, it is almost certain. About the company’s 50-watt fast charger and its details, an industry insider, Roland Quandt pulled the cover off.

It is precisely the model running under the name EP-T5020, which has two USB-C ports. The charger is basically capable of delivering 50 watts, but if both ports are used, its output is limited to 25 watts. It’s not outstanding, but it’s more than enough power for mobile phones, after all, none of Samsung’s devices exceed 45-watt wired charging.

There is really only one problem with the accessory: based on Quandt’s information, it will be sold in Europe at a price of 69.90 euros (almost HUF 30, of course, this also depends on local taxes), which is a lot to say the least, especially for this performance.

We can choose from many much cheaper chargers with better specifications, so Samsung’s solution will probably impress users who stick to brand-loyal, official accessories, as we have already become accustomed to at Apple’s house.
