For days, the Internet has been buzzing with the fact that PlayStation Plus subscribers feel cheated, because even though they got Fallout 4 for PlayStation 5 in vain, they are not entitled to the “next-gen update” that was released this week, which in addition to bug fixes, new missions, and graphical tweaks, it also added the long-awaited 60 fps mode to the game. The thing also surprised Bethesda, and although it was silent for days, it has now broken its silence on X.

“We’ve experienced some confusion regarding the Fallout 4 next-gen update among PlayStation Plus Extra members. The Fallout 4 update will also be available to them through the PlayStation Game Catalog. We appreciate your patience while the teams work on this.” – can be read in the developer’s statement.

So, as of now, the above statement only applies to players with an Extra membership, there is no information about what will happen to those who got their copy through the PS5 Catalog and PS+ Essentials.

Even Microsoft wants Fallout 5 as soon as possible

According to the latest industry rumors, the owner of Bethesda is also aware of the expectations for the next Fallout game and can’t wait for it to arrive. As we already wrote about, the studio is extremely busy, it won’t be released before 2030, since it has to finish Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI first.

But Microsoft wants to speed up development, riding the current hype. Jez Corden believes that Fallout 5 will definitely be a success, and there is only one way to speed up development. Namely, it would take it away from Bethesda Game Studios and outsource the project to an outside team, similar to 2010’s Fallout: New Vegas, which was put together by Obsidian Entertainment. We would fold our hands and give away all our caps if that were the case now!
