The recently surfaced The Unheard Edition has proven particularly annoying for players who previously purchased the $100 Edge of Darkness edition for $100 (which is no longer available), saying it would give them access to all future DLC. They later found out that they were not getting the PvE mode, and in addition, a new $250 package was upgraded with what they thought was ridiculous pay-to-win content.

According to a Forbes report, senior community manager Daniel Mavlijuberdinov claimed on the Discord server that the PvE mode is not considered downloadable content, but a unique feature of a new release.

“Just because you all want it to be DLC doesn’t mean it will be. This is a featured game mode for the new release of the game.” – stated the developer.

Fans didn’t need any more, the Discord channel was flooded with complaints. Players also complain that The Unheard Edition provides more storage (meaning players can store more loot for themselves), the owners have better abilities, they can hide better in cover, and AI-controlled opponents don’t shoot at them certain reputation- above level. According to them, this gives them an unfair advantage.

The developer has blocked all channels on the game’s official Discord server in an attempt to prevent the flow of complaints. Unlike the Escape from Tarkov Reddit page, which exists independently of them – the moderators also encourage players to post as many threads on the topic as they like.

The attitude of Battlestate Games is interesting, but we hope that a compromise solution will be reached soon. This is not the first time that a developer’s decision has blown the fuse among fans: the most recent was the appearance of microtransactions, which provoked controversy.
