The beautiful Lovecraftian horror game in 35 minutes of gameplay

One of the most interesting Lovecraftian horror games of the year, Pneumata, takes place over half an hour of gameplay.

25.04.2024 – The rather spectacular Lovecraftian survival horror Pneumata, which is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, was presented during the 2023 Indie Horror Showcase, but almost half a year after its unveiling, and approaching its release scheduled for the second half of 2024, we don’t know too much about it everything. Despite the fact that a few months ago it was possible to try out a demo of a very early version of the game, so that based on the players’ feedback, the team at Deadbolt Interactive can make changes where they really need to.

Of course, we can’t expect from an independent developer what even the bigger teams are often unable to do, but at the same time, the terrifying horror with zombies, grotesque monsters, and pig-headed psychopaths is promising enough to make us eagerly await the new information and gameplay crumbs. Fortunately for us, we were not left without exciting gameplay until the release, thanks to DSO and the ENFANT TERRIBLE YouTube channel: the former spotted the latter’s upload, in which the horror spins for 35 minutes.

Based on the material seen, the image of a budget project does not emerge at all: the view is first-rate, and although the horse’s leg still sticks out here and there, we can say that it will be absolutely beautiful. The gameplay is more based on the slower Lovecraftian elements, spiced up with quite a few survival elements, so in addition to the investigation, we have to collect and explore in order to use better and more effective tools to fight against the horrors that hunt within the walls of Clover Hill Apartments.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know the exact release date, but in theory we will be able to play it this year only on PS5 and via Steam on PC.
