Gigabyte announced: the next generation AMD RYZEN processors really strengthen the 9000 series – iPon

--

Based on the information so far, AMD’s next-generation desktop and mobile processors will strengthen the RYZEN 9000 series, and both ASUS and MSI motherboards are already prepared for these products, thanks to the AGESA Combo AM5 Pi 1.1.7.0 Patch A based on UEFI Firmwares, which are slowly being prepared for all motherboards equipped with 600 series chipsets. After ASUS and MSI, Gigabyte also announced the availability of the first BIOSes for the company’s X670, B650 and B620 series motherboards that are ready to support next-generation AMD processors.

Although neither ASUS nor MSI named the new products, Gigabyte’s officials were not complacent, they described it in a round pretzel, the new processors will strengthen the RYZEN 9000 series, at least on the desktop front. This is a fairly obvious confirmation of the previous rumors, but since AMD has not yet officially revealed which series the new processors will come in, it is worth taking the rumor with a grain of salt.

The new AMD processors will naturally be built around the ZEN 5 architecture and fit into Socket AM5 just like their RYZEN 7000 and RYZEN 8000G series counterparts, and the existence of dual-channel DDR5 memory support will also be considered a common feature. The new desktop processors are expected to make their debut this year, based on the information so far, Computex 2024, which is due in a month and a half, will probably be the venue for the formal launch, but if the actual launch does not take place, AMD will definitely show the first ZEN 5-based processors his first human, Dr. Lisa Su.

In addition to the desktop models, there are of course also mobile versions, led by the Strix Halo series, which we just wrote about in a previous news. The members of the Strix Point, Strix Halo and Fire Range series are also expected to strengthen the RYZEN 9000 series, so the ZEN 5-based range paints a unified picture. Apparently, only Hawk Point-based desktop and mobile APU units will arrive in the RYZEN 8000 series, not newer versions. The launch of the mobile APU units is expected to take place next year, perhaps during CES 2025, if the company follows a similar strategy to the product launch.
