A few months ago, its sales began with great fanfare, but now interest in Apple’s first AR/VR headset, the Vision Pro, has completely died down, if Bloomberg’s always well-informed Apple specialist, Mark Gurman, is to be believed.
Based on what he saw and heard in several Apple stores, Gurman writes in this week’s newsletter that those stores that previously sold dozens of the $3,500 headsets a day are now, at best, only serving a few drop-in customers a week.
Potential customers are similarly absent from stores, at least experience also shows that only a fraction of the audience that initially shows up for the demos is curious, and it is a common phenomenon that those who register for a demo often do not even show up in the store in the end.
