In the upper category, only Sony provides a 3.5 mm connection option. Now, however, a company coming from “nowhere” wants to win the favor of users by promising Hi-Fi sound.
Moondrop hinted that it was making a smartphone, and in a preview image it flashed the device, which will be called MAID 01.
The Moondrop brand name is completely unknown on the mobile market, but otherwise they have been on the market for almost 10 years and mainly develop audio devices for a wide audience. The company offers quite expensive premium products that will fit perfectly with MAID 01, and there are penny solutions for an affordable amount for everyone. Its products usually have a unique look and are very good value for money. We trust that this will also be true for your mobile phone, even though we won’t be talking about an ordinary package.
The name Moondrop MAID 01 comes from an acronym consisting of the letters Mobile Internet Audio Device. This also foreshadows the fact that we can talk about a solution sharpened for musical functionality. But it will be enough to pick up the phone and take a good look for people to notice that this is no ordinary device. There will be a Jack outlet at the top, not one, but two, and one of the two openings is larger.
In addition to the simple 3.5 mm Jack socket, the designers have added a 4.4 mm symmetrical connection surface to the MAID 01 smartphone. This is especially used for premium audio products. Moondrop also offers a device that uses the 4.4 mm symmetrical socket, so those who will buy the new MAID 01 smartphone can immediately choose a premium Moondrop Venus planar headphone for $600.
The current state-of-the-art wireless connection options are suitable for signal transmission of around 1-1.2 Mbps for premium earphones and headphones, which can already be considered very good. However, for the best possible music experience, cable connection solutions must still be used. The USB-C connector can also be used to connect premium audio devices to mobile phones, there are even USB-C-equipped DACs that use, for example, a 4.4 mm symmetrical connector, but the Moondrop MAID 01 will not require any converters or other devices .
We already know for sure about the device that it comes with 5G mobile network support, but we haven’t been able to find out more about it yet. The date of its presentation is not known either, but it is certain that you won’t have to wait long, because the company is promoting its arrival more and more intensively.
