You can try the new game of the former developers of the legendary Lionhead Studios, Ironmarkedet, for free, with which you can even save the project and the studio.

24.04.2024 – It is certainly gratifying that the veteran developers of Lionhead Studios, which once reached great heights and was terminated by Microsoft’s executioner, finally found a new home in Falming Fowl Studios, which at first tried to gain a foothold with exciting games. Unfortunately, unsuccessfully: although the card game Fable Fortune, set in the world of Fable, was not a bad title, and their second development, Gloomhaven, based on the board game Homályrév, became a perfect digital copy, the big game industry retack overtook them too.

The head of the indie studio, Craig Oman, regrettably announced at VGC that they had to lay off more than half of the team after no publishers were interested in their latest game, Ironmarked. According to Oman, the strategy role-playing game based on deck-building mechanics was shown to at least 30 publishers, but all rejected them citing the current difficulties in the gaming industry. This means that the development of the game has been suspended due to downsizing, and the survival of the studio is surrounded by huge questions.

This is exactly why the developers released the Ironmarked Steam demo the other day to gauge demand for the game. That’s why they ask everyone who is interested and likes the genre to try the game, and if you like it, don’t hesitate to add it to your wish list, because it’s already a good starting point for them, if they might try out with a publisher, or they can call attention and interest in it.

“We worked on the game for over a year. We had a publishing house, but it went out of business around June of last year, and since August we have been self-financing, working with our own money. Since then we have tried with publishers, but they all said that the game looks promising, the team looks great, but now they won’t sign anything… I think the way to resurrect Ironmarked is to generate enough wishlists to go to a publisher.. “ Craig Oman said sadly.
